4/18/09 The word on the street is that The deal between Topps and the aquiring company to purchase Wizkids assests fell through recently. To that extent it is reported that Topps may release on its own the next expansion of Heroclix for this summer. The expansion set entitled The Hammer of Thor would be released by Topps this summer while negotiations with some of the other companies that were previously outbid would continue for Wizkids assests. This may or may not be one of Topps brightest ideas but it is reported that a too long of gap between Heroclix expansions in relation to its fan base would hurt the product line. What does this say for the Pirate line.....well Pirates has been mentioned in many of threads and articles behind heroclix. I would take it as assests to mean the Pirates product line as well. Pirates was not as big as the heroclix line for many reasons but it still was a very popular (and still is) gaming product. We will have to wait it out to see what happens......Capt. Chum
